What you'll be doing?
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR,Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
 
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
 
Reporting to the Head of Business Change & Governance, you will be required to manage the adoption and change delivery on a number of Business Change Programmes and Projects across the Group. As Adoption and Change Manager you will be responsible for successful adoption of the programme or project by focusing on the ‘people’ side of change. The role requires effective co-ordination of all programme inter-dependencies, including executives, line management, business functions, internal communications, IT and other resources.

The role will also be required to mentor Project Sponsors, Workstream Leads, Project and Programme Managers, and develop resources across the group to enable successful adoption of projects where there is no assigned ACM role plus they will implement of a change framework, toolkit and best practice.
 
You will be expected to:
 
  • The primary responsibility is to create and implement ACM strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage of new ways of working, and minimise the effects of resistance.
  • Support the Head of Business Change and the PMO to develop project and change management methodologies across the Building Excellence programme.
  • Understand the vision of the Project Sponsor business goals and future state   
  • Plan, co-ordinate and deliver ACM activities to ensure that the workstream, project or programme is successfully delivered and changes are embedded into the business
  • Create and manage the ACM strategy for each workstream, project or programme
  • Conduct impact analysis, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders
  • Develop sponsor commitment guide and roadmap of activities
  • Facilitate the formation of a sponsor coalition with other senior leaders
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aware of their role, responsibilities and to ensure they are aware of their deliverables.
  • Support the design, development, delivery, channels and management of communications
  • Assess, identify and support training approach and capabilities
  • Review, identify and develop coaching and change champion approaches and capabilities
  • Enable a two-way communication channel with users for feedback and to inform improvements
  • Review, identify and develop rewards and recognition approach
  • Proactively review, identify and develop mitigations to resistance
  • Identify and develop reinforcement activities
  • Integrate change management activities into the project / programme plan
  • Track adoption and celebrate successes
  • Compliance with the agreed change methodology, framework and tools
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training around the ACM approach and methodology to project team members
  • Manage the portfolio and change load
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
 
  • Currently working, or have significant experience, in a Business Change or Transformation Management role within a large, multi-site organisation.
  • Experience within Housebuilding would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Degree-level education and holding a current, recognised change management qualification
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels and highly skilled at developing relationships
  • Comfortable in delivering change through facilitation, presentations and practise.
  • Ability to deliver successful projects through the guidance, coaching, mentoring and influencing of others, including sponsors
  • Able to coach in ACM techniques
  • Team player with the ability to lead and be part of a wider team
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Resilient, enthusiastic and confident self-starter
  • Good business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
